Turquoise rolled over in bed and took a deep breath before she opened her eyes. She smiled when she saw Jeff lying there sound asleep. If it hadn't been for his love she wouldn't be here today to enjoy this sight.
She had been so wrapped up in her career and love life that she never paid attention to her body. She was wreckless at times and now that she had a second chance at life she vowed to be more careful. It hadn't been easy for her to get to this point. She was used to warming up and just hopping into the ring to do a run through with Amy, but over the past months she's had to take things slower. Despite her grumblings about it she was happy with her progress.
If the accident hadn't happened she and Amy would have most likely become tag champs. That's the way their angle was going. Vince had told her the afternoon of the accident that she and Amy would be in the PPV. The hardest thing for her to do was to just concentrate on her rehab and not dwell on what might have been.
So I trust in love
You have given me piece of mind
"Are you sure I'll still have a job," she had asked Jeff as he helped her through her reps in rehab.
"Of course," he replied with a wide smile. "I won't let Vince do that to you and you know it."
Sighing happily she slipped out of bed and went out onto the balcony of Jeff's hotel room.
She closed her eyes as the sun beat down to warm her and inhaled the sweet smell of cherry blossoms. As she stood there she hummed a new song she had heard on the radio the other day.
"What are you doing," Jeff asked softly. She could hear the smile in his voice.
"I just want to savour the morning," she replied.
"You know if the fans saw you here Vince will have our heads," he said slipping his arms around her waist. "You're supposed to still be in a wheelchair."
"I don't care," she said smiling as she leaned back against his bare chest. "You hear me fans," she yelled. "Turquoise Bennett is back!" Jeff laughed and dragged her back into the hotel room.
Now that I know you
I could never turn my back away
Now that I see you
I could never look away
Now that I see you
I believe no matter what they say
"I don't know how to tell you this Ms Bennet," the doctor said. Turquoise's heart sank when she saw the grim look on his face. She turned to Jeff, who squeezed her hand reassuringly. "You're cleared to wrestle."
"What," she asked in disbelief.
"You've made significant progress in rehab and I feel you'll be fine to wrestle again," he replied and finally smiled.
"Thank you," she said jumping out of her chair to hug him. Once they were outside she hugged Jeff so tight that he almost passed out.
I feel so alive for the very first time
I can't deny you
I feel so alive for the very first time
And I think I can fly
"Hey T," Amy said smiling wide when she entered the gym. "Ready to get back into the action?"
"Aims I'm ready to fly," she replied smiling.
