"I never got to tell you how much I loved you," he said to the cold concrete slab. "I never got to hold you one last time and..." He choked on a sob. "And tell you how much you meant to me." The tears now flowed freely down his cheek.
"I can't do this without you," he sobbed.
"Jeff?" He turned, wiping his eyes to see Matt and Amy staring at him, concern etching their faces.
"She's gone," Jeff sobbed and fell foward. Matt swooped down and caught him before he fell to the cold ground. "She's gone Matt."
" I know," Matt said sniffling as he forced back his own tears unsuccessfully.
"We all miss her," Amy said rubbing Jeff's shoulders. Jeff looked from Matt to Amy and realized that they were both crying also. " We all loved her. No matter what she did."
"I never got to tell her that I forave her," Jeff sobbed. Matt and Amy hugged him tightly. "I never got to show her how much I cared."
"Jeff," Amy said sniffling. "She knows. She can hear you."
"That's what we have to keep telling ourselves now," Matt continued when he saw Amy was getting too choked up to continue. "Mom's taking care of her now."
Jeff wiped his tears away and looked up to the gray sky. He smiled and looked to Matt and Amy again. "You're right." He stood and brshed himself off before he helped Mtt up.
"You coming," Amy asked Jeff as she and Matt began to walk away.
Jeff kissed his fingertips and placed them gently on the tombstone before he nodded at Amy and followed het to Matt's car.
