Visions

Bella walked along the crowded corridor of the convention center. She stuck to the wall as she walked to the room where the Team Extreme autograph show was being held.

Just as she got to the room where Team Extreme was signing a woman was coming out and she brushed past her. The woman's hand happened to graze Bella's and a flash sparked across her eyes.

A horrible car accident was spread out before Bella. She looked around and saw that she was at a nearby intersection. The woman Bella had seen just a few minutes ago was hanging out of a shattered car window. Blood was dripping down her forehead and her eyes were wide and glazed over. Bella knew that the woman was dead.

"Miss? Are you all right," the woman asked.

Bella blinked and snapped back to the present. Tears were in her eyes as she nodded and pushed past the woman into the crowded makeshift shop. She quickly dried her eyes and made a very conscious effort not to touch anyone else.

"This is not going to happen here," Bella muttered trying to get control of her bounding pulse. "This is not happening here." When she felt normal again she grabbed an 8x10 glossy of Matt, Jeff and Amy and stood in line to pay for it. She handed the money to the clerk behind the register and her hand grazed his as he accepted the payment.

As before a flash sparked across her eyes.

Bella was now standing in a hospital room and saw the man standing next to a woman in a hospital bed in what was obviously a delivery room. She saw the woman give one final push and then she and the man stared down at their newborn daughter with tears in their eyes.

"Ma'am? Your change," the clerk said.

"Thank you," Bella said smiling as she accepted her change."She's very beautiful," she said smiling warmly at the man.

"Who is," he asked puzzled.

"Your baby girl," she replied.

The man's mouth dopped to the floor. "But my wife hasn't had the....How did you..." Realizing what she had just let slip Bella ran out of the shop and took a place in line for the signing.

"This is not happening," she whispered to herself hoarsely. "Not here. Please don't let me embarass myself in front of my idols."

She had been standing in line for over an hour, waiting impatiently to see the only wrestlers she loved no matter what. Finally after an eternity, she was motioned into the room. She stood on her tippy toes to get a glimpse of the Hardys and Lita.

"All right you're next," the security guard said motioning to her. "Wait for this guy to finish up with Jeff and then you can start at Lita and work your way down." She nodded and made a face at the guy in front of her, who was taking entirely too long flirting with Lita. When he finally finished up with Jeff she walked over to the table and placed her picture down in front of Amy.

"Hi," the fiery red head said smiling. "How are you today?"

"I'm good," Bella said smiling from ear to ear. "Um...I was wondering if I could get a photo with all three of you." Bella bit her lip nervously as Amy scrawled her autograph across the picture.

"I don't see why not," she smiled. "Matt, Jeff...uh...What's your name," she asked Bella.

"Bella," she replied and smiled at the brothers.

"Bella here wants to take a pic with all three of us," Amy said.

"Sure," Matt replied. "Let's get your glossy signed and then we can pose. All right?"

"Thanks," Bella said, smiling from ear to ear once again.

Once Jeff had signed the glossy he motioned a member of security over and then motioned for Bella to hand the man her camera and come behind the table to pose with them.

She squeezed in between and brothers and crouched down a bit so that Amy, who was standing between Matt and Jeff also, wasn't blocked and the security guard snapped off two pictures. "Thank you so much," Bella said, her smile still as big as ever. "You have no idea how much I love you guys."

"It was our pleasure," Matt said. "You're really just too sweet to say no to."

Amy and Matt grabbed a hand each to shake and that same flash came before her eyes.

Bella found herself in a church pew watching Matt gaze down the aisle as Amy walked down to him. He was in a traditional tuxedo and Amy was wearing a cream and white flowing wedding gown. The church was full of friends and family and nearly everyone was crying happy tears, including Matt and Amy.

"Bella? Are you ok," Amy asked.

"Yes," Bella croaked. "I'm fine. Sorry. Just a little starstruck I guess." Matt and Amy smiled and nodded.

"Pleasure meeting you Bella," Jeff said smiling. He had waited his turn to shake her hand since Matt and Amy had both hands occupied. The moment his hand touched hers Bella was filled with pain as a flash of deep crimson flashed before her eyes.

She found herself at ringside. She gazed around wondering why the fans all looked horrified and then her eyes rested on a flash of purple and green where the EMTs were frantically working. She realized with sick certainty that the purple and green was Jeff's hair. Something horrible had happened to him. His body was contorted in an odd way and there was blood dripping from his head. She watched as the EMTs finally gave up and placed a white sheet over his face.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO," she screamed causing the whole room to freeze and stare at her. She collapsed in a fit of tears at Jeff's feet.

"Bella! Bella?! What happened," Jeff yelled and tried to shake her out of it. Bella recoiled from his touch, scooting under the table and mumbling something about having to stop something too horrible. "Bella please...what's going on?"

"What's happening here," the security guard asked.

"We don't know. Call an ambulance," Matt yelled. "There's something wrong with this girl."

Matt, Jeff and Amy watched as the hysterical girl was loaded into the back of ambulance. An EMT had given her a sedative, but it didn't seem to be helping. As the ambulance drove away Jeff stood staring after it for a long time before he followed Matt and Amy back into the convention center.

*~*~*~*

"Hey. What's with you," Matt asked Jeff as they all walked out of the convention center after the signing.

"Huh? Oh no thanks man," Jeff said and wandered off to his rental car in the parking lot.

Matt looked at Amy confused. "What's with him?"

"Well, I don't know about you, but people don't usually go from calm to hysterical in two seconds flat around us. Maybe Jeff's still shaken up."

"I guess," Matt said as he opened the door for Amy. "I'll talk to him when he gets back to the hotel."

*~*~*~*

Jeff walked over to the hospital receptionist desk. "Hi," he said flashing a smile. "A friend of mine was just brought in not too long ago. I was wondering if you could tell me what room she's in."

"Name," the receptionist said wheeling over to her keyboard and typing.

"Bella," Jeff replied.

"Last name," the receptionist asked and then looked up at Jeff who was looking a bit blank. "I can't give you the room number unless you give me her complete name, sir." Jeff still looked blank. "She is your friend isn't she? Then you should know her last name."

"Look," Jeff said getting annoyed with the lady. "She was at the convention center at a wrestling autograph show. She was brought here and I'd like to see her."

"Sorry sir," the woman said typing in the information he had just told her. "She's on the secure psych ward. No visitors allowed for forty-eight hours."

Jeff kicked the desk and stormed out of the hospital. "How am I going to get to see her," Jeff muttered to himself. He walked back into the lobby and smiled at the receptionist again. "Can I at least have the number of the person in charge of the psych ward if I can't visit my friend?" She smiled, nodded and jotted down the name and number of the person in charge of the ward. "Thanks!" Shoving the paper in his pocket he left the hospital and went back to his hotel.

*~*~*~*

Jeff walked into his hotel room thinking about the afternoon's events. When he woke up this morning he was convinced that this would be a boring autograph show, but it had turned out much much different. Something in Bella's eyes told Jeff that she was seeing something horrific.

He thought that maybe she had the gift of sight, but if it showed her something so horrible that she had to be rushed to the hospital and sent to the psych ward...he just couldn't see how it could be a gift. It seemed more like a curse to him.

A knock at his door brought him out of his thoughts. He opened the door and scowled. Matt was standing there looking concerned, as he always did. "Where'd ya go bro," he asked.

"To check on Bella," Jeff said flopping onto his bed. "I'm fine Matt. She's not though."

"What's going on with her," Matt asked shoving Jeff's feet aside and sitting down at the foot of the bed.

"She's in the psych ward," Jeff replied. "She doesn't belong there."

"She looked pretty crazy to me," Matt muttered. Jeff sat up and glared at him. "Well, she did."

"She saw something when she touched my hand," Jeff said. Matt looked at him thoroughly confused. "She can see things Matt." Jeff sighed when still nothing registered. "She gets premonitions. God! Don't you follow anything paranormal at all?"

"That's always been your specialty," Matt said smirking.

"I couldn't even get in to see her because I don't know her last name or anything. I did manage to get the number of the head of the psych ward though."

"Great," Matt said smiling at his baby brother. He could charm the pants off a llama if he wanted to. "So plead her case and get her out of there."

"I have a feeling this won't be a believable story," Jeff sighed. "I don't know why, but I'm worried about her. She seemed so fragile to begin with." Matt nodded in agreement. Bella did seem quite frail.

"You'll think of something. You always do," Matt said and stood. "I gotta get back before Amy gets worried." Jeff nodded as Matt left and began to think of a way to get Bella out.

*~*~*~*

"She's been totally unresponsive," Doctor Nick Panciera asked a nurse.

"No doctor," she replied. "She goes on and on about Jeff being in danger. She says she has to stop him from getting killed."

Nick frowned. "Let me see her," he said. The nurse nodded and led him to the quiet room. Nick peeked into the window and saw Bella curled up in a corner.

Her normally vibrantly shiny raven locks were matted with sweat and tears. Her makeup was smeared all over her face. Her normally creamy white complexion looked almost gray and ashen. She was clearly not in good shape.

"Has she let anyone near her," Nick asked.

"No," the nurse replied. "She backs into a corner anytime anyone comes near her.

"I'm going in to see her," Nick said. The nurse stared at him with wide eyes. "Keep a syringe of Haldol ready just in case."

"Yes doctor."

Nick opened the door to the quiet room and peered inside. Bella, hearing the door open, had scrambled into the corner and was cowering away from him. "Hello Bella," Nick said smiling and sitting down indian style across from her. She eyed him warily. "I'm not going to hurt you Bella."

"I'm not worried about being hurt," she replied softly. "Please. Something horrible is going to happen to Jeff and I need to stop it."

"Who is this Jeff," Nick asked.

"He's my favorite wrestler. I met him today and....nevermind."

"And what? Something happened to him?"

"No..not yet," Bella replied. "I see things."

"Are you seeing things now?"

"No," Bella replied frustrated that he was patronizing her. "When I touch someone I can see things. The future. Happy moments. Frightening moments. Death."

"I see," Nick replied. "Do me a favor? Take my hand and tell me what you see."

Bella looked at him skeptically and then slowly reached out to take his hand. She saw a quick flash of light.

Bella saw an open field with multicolored wildflowers strewn amongst the grass. She saw Nick running after a little boy, who was laughing hysterically. He finally caught up with him and tackled him to the grass. The boy looked about seven or eight. Both were laughing hysterically as Nick tickled the child.

"Bella? What do you see?"

"I saw you and a little boy in a field," Bella said. "Is he your son?"

"No," Nick replied thoughtfully. "My baby brother. He's very sick right now."

"He's going to get better," Bella replied smiling.

"Look," Nick replied. "I can't release you for forty-eight hours. You seem fine now, but the incident at the convention center doesn't look good for you."

"Usually I can keep that under control," Bella replied. "It's the overflow of emotion after the vision. Jeff's vision was just so...unbelievably painful that I couldn't stop my reaction."

"All right," Nick said with a sigh. "I will talk to my superiors and suggest that you be released after the forty-eight hour observation period is over. I can't guarantee that they'll agree, but if you cooperate with me for these two days then they might be swayed."

*~*~*~*

"This is very important," Jeff said with an impatient sigh. "Well if he can't come to the phone can I be transferred to someone who can help me?" He listened for the secretary's response. "Thank you."

"Doctor Nick Panciera."

"Yes, I was wondering if you could possibly help me out. My name is Jeff Hardy and a girl came to an autograph signing that myself and my brother and his girlfriend were doing. I was just..."

"Say no more Mr Hardy," Nick replied smiling. "Bella seems to be just fine now."

"Would it be possible for me to see her," Jeff asked.

"I'm sorry," Nick replied. "I'm afraid that's against regulations. I've already seen her today and I'm going to have a meeting with my superiors about not keeping her here."

"That's great news," Jeff said very relieved.

"I am worried about her well being if something like this happens again. You didn't happen to find anything out about her when you met her did you?"

"No," Jeff replied. "But from the looks of her....she's probably a loner."

"You can tell that from looking at her," Nick asked.

"I'm familiar with the type," Jeff replied.

"No need to get defensive," Nick replied chuckling lightly. "I was just curious. I plan to get to know Bella better over the next two days, but I don't like her going home by herself. If she is living alone then it doesn't look good for her release."

"I could look after her," Jeff said, surprising himself.

Nick sighed. "Well, I suppose it is better than leaving her in this place. The only thing that worries me is that you were the reason for her, for lack of a better word, breakdown."

"I really don't understand what happened," Jeff replied running a hand through his blonde hair.

"I shouldn't be telling you this, but she told me that she can see the future or something. She called them visions. She said that she saw something terrible happen to you and she needs to prevent it."

"I see," Jeff said cautiously.

"I'm inclined to believe her," Nick said. "She saw something in my future that I am praying comes true. Mr Hardy I have to go do rounds before I go to my meeting. If you give me a number where I can reach you I'll be sure to keep you updated."

"That's great. I'll give you my cell. I'm going to be one town over for a show tomorrow, but I have the rest of the week free." Jeff gave Nick the number and hung up feeling a little more hopeful for Bella's well being.

*~*~*~*

Nick pounded his fist on his desk when he was back in his office and behind the closed door. The panel of his superior colleagues had shot down his suggestion to release Bella in forty-eight hours if she lived alone. They feared that she was a danger to herself. Each member of the panel had been to see her and agreed that she was more than half the size of a woman her age. She had obviously not been eating properly due to her "psychotic episodes". Nick ran his fingers through his hair and sighed as he leaned back in his chair. His eyes came to rest on the picture of his little brother, Jeremy.

Nick remembered the day that his mother had brought little Jeremy home from the hospital. He had been fifteen at the time. When his mother placed the baby in his arms Nick thought he was staring at a doll. Although Jeremy was ten he was small for his age. He was born with a heart defect that cause him to be very sick much of the time.

"Bella said you'd get better Tiger," Nick said to the photo. He set the photo back onto his desk and left his office.

"Bella still in the quiet room," he asked the nurse at the desk.

"Yes Doctor Panciera," she replied. He nodded and walked to the quiet room. He knocked softly and entered.

"We need to talk," he said. Bella, who had been braiding her hair, stopped and nodded. "It doesn't look good." She frowned. "I need some info from you. If you were to be released, would you have people to stay with?"

"I usually try to avoid people," Bella replied softly. "Since Momma died I live alone." Nick sighed. "People just bring on a roller coaster of emotions for me. I really would belong here if I was around people all the time. I'm fine to go to the store or movie or something, as long as no one touches me."

"This doesn't look good at all," Nick said frowning. "I spoke to my colleagues. They don't think it's a good idea for you to be released on your own." Bella looked up at him with wide piercing green eyes. "Bella...you have to understand that they take in the whole picture. You came here after having a breakdown in a public place. You look emaciated and your appearance was quite disheveled when you came in. I'm happy to see that you've cleaned up, but...my colleagues feel you're a danger to yourself. When it comes right down to it...I don't have much say in anything."

"There has to be something you can do," Bella said her eyes huge and pleading.

"Well, there might be something, but it's a long shot."

"What is it?"

"I spoke to Jeff," Nick replied.

"Jeff...Hardy?"

"Yes," Nick replied smiling. "He was quite worried about you. It's not every day that a fan winds up in the psych ward after meeting him." He smirked letting her know that he was teasing. A blush was slowly creeping into her cheeks. "He wants to look after you."

Bella stood up, glaring at him. "I'm not a child," she huffed. "I happen to be twenty-one years old." She folded her arms across her chest and turned away from him.

"I understand that you're an adult Bella. The problem is you have no support on the outside. I might be able to persuade the panel that Jeff can be your support." Bella looked at him with uncertainty. "Would you like to speak to him?" She nodded. "Come with me." He led her out into the common room and told her to sit by the pay phone while he grabbed some change and Jeff's cell number from his office. He dialed the number.

"Mr Hardy," Nick said. "This is Nick Panciera. No. Nothing's wrong with Bella." He winked at Bella as he listened to Jeff. "Someone would like to talk to you. Hang on." He held out the reciever to Bella. "Go on."

She took the phone. "Hi Jeff," she said softly, a blush creeping into her cheeks again.

*~*~*~*

"Bella," he said smiling. "I'm so glad to hear from you."

"Is it true? That you want to look after me," she asked.

"Yes," Jeff replied. "I do. I can't explain it Bella, but it...it felt like you and I had a link...even if it was just for a brief moment."

"Oh Jeff," she said sniffling. "I saw something so terrible in your future."

"What did you see?"

"You had a fatal accident during a match," she replied softly. "Jeff it was awful. So much worse than any other vision I've ever had."

"I'll try not to let that happen," Jeff replied reassuringly. "So if they say it's all right...would you want to come on the road with us?"

"Us?"

"Matt, Amy and I of course," Jeff replied smiling.

"I'd love that, but..I can't be around people Jeff."

"You get your visions from touch don't you," Jeff asked frowning.

"Yes," Bella said tears filling her eyes. Being on the road with Matt, Amy and Jeff would be like a dream come true for her.

"Look...I'd love it if you could hang out with everyone, but if you want you can stay in the hotel until you feel confident enough to hang out."

"Why are you so dead set on this," she asked. "I'm just a fan. Why do you care what happens to me?"

"Because," Jeff replied searching for the answer. "Because...I just feel like we have something in common."

"What could we possibly have in common," she scoffed.

"Pain," replied Jeff.

"I'm sorry Bella, but times up on the phone," Nick said gently. Bella nodded and handed the phone back to him. "Mr Hardy? If I can convince my superiors to release her into your care I will let you know."

"I appreciate this," Jeff said and hung up the phone smiling and full of hope.

*~*~*~*

"Bella," Nick said once he had hung up the pay phone and turned back to her. Bella was standing with an elderly woman and the woman was holding Bella's hand. To Nick's surprise Bella was talking softly to her. He edged closer to them and listened.

"She's a very lovely girl," Bella said smiling. "You must be so proud."

"Oh I am," the woman replied. "Can you see anything else? I didn't believe Jack when he told me you could see the future."

"I see a big wedding," Bella said smiling. She had a far off look in her green eyes. Oh your granddaughter looks just lovely in her gown. She's going to grow up to be a gorgeous woman."

"Oh thank you," the woman said with tears in her eyes. "Thank you so much!" She hugged Bella and Nick could see her tense and then relax in the woman's arms. Then the elderly woman walked away.

Bella turned to Nick and gave him a weak smile. "You saw something else when she hugged you. Didn't you?" She nodded. "What was it?"

"Her death," Bella replied softly. "She's going to slit her wrists. She wasn't here though. She was in a house. Hers probably."

"She's never spoken to anyone you know," Nick said smiling at Bella.

"How can you smile when I just told you how she was going to die," Bella replied.

"Because she came here a mute woman who was starving herself," Nick replied. "You were the first person she spoke to since she got here two weeks ago. It's a breakthrough Bella and you helped it happen."

"She wasn't speaking or eating because her daughter-in-law said that she could never see her granddaughter ever again. Her son died in a car accident about a year ago and her daughter-in-law never really liked her," Bella said. "She said that she'd rather die than not see her little baby."

"Have you ever thought about going into psychiatry," Nick asked seriously. "You'd make a wonderful psychiatrist." Bella shrugged. "Well, I think you'd be great." When she didn't reply he sighed. "All right. You can stay in the common room or go back to the quiet room. It's your choice." Bella sighed and walked slowly back to the quiet room, making sure to avoid the other patients. Nick sighed as he watched her tiny retreating form.

*~*~*~*

Jeff went down to the hotel lobby whistling happily. "What are you so happy about," Amy asked looking up from her paperback.

"I just got off the phone with Bella's doctor," he said smiling.

"Good news huh," Amy said smiling as she folded the page down in her book and closed it. "I've been pretty worried about her since the show."

"Listen," Jeff said taking a seat next to her. "Do you think Matt will object to bringing Bella on the road with us?" He bit his lip anxiously and watched her response.

"I thought she was in the psych ward," Amy asked confused.

"She's only there for forty-eight hours for observation," Jeff said. "Hopefully."

"Hopefully," Amy asked still confused.

"Her doctor says that if he can convince his superiors that I'll look out for Bella she will be released."

"If not," Amy asked.

"She stays there to basically rot," Jeff said sadly.

"Leave it all to me," Amy said smiling. "I'll soften Matt up for ya. Although, I don't think it will be a problem. He liked Bella."

"Thanks Aims," Jeff said hugging her. "You're a lifesaver."

*~*~*~*

"Mr Hardy," Nick said when Jeff finally answered his cell. "I had a meeting with my superiors and they're very reluctant to say yes, but they said that if they can interview you then they can have an answer for us soon."

"When do I have to be there," Jeff asked.

"You said that you have the rest of the week free," Nick asked.

"That's right," Jeff replied.

"Well, I think I can set up a meeting for tomorrow. Around one good?"

"Perfect," Jeff replied.

"There's just one thing," Nick said. "My superiors are not going to overlook the fact that you were what set off her breakdown. You need to convince them that you're not going to be the only person she'll be around."

"Not a problem," Jeff replied. "I live with my brother and his girlfriend and we travel on the road together with plenty of people that Bella will be able to make friends with."

"All right Mr Hardy," Nick said smiling. "Sounds like you have everything under control. If you could bring your brother and his girlfriend with you tomorrow that would be great."

"Not a problem," Jeff replied. Jeff frowned when he hung up and sighed. "Now to get my head bitten off by Matt." He left his room and knocked on Matt and Amy's door. He heard them arguing inside and frowned. Before he could walk away the door swung open and Matt glared at him.

"You want her to come on the road with us," he fumed.

"It's for her safety," Jeff replied calmly.

"How can you...what are you..." Matt grumbled something incoherent and ran a hand through his hair. "The fact that you sent Amy to do your dirty work was really underhanded Jeff."

"She told me that she'd talk to you," Jeff said finally losing his temper. "I didn't ask her to do a damn thing!"

"Stop it! Stop it right now," Amy yelled finally. "Matt. I want her to come on the road with us too." Matt groaned. "You saw her Matt. She lives alone. She's going to rot in that place if we don't help her. They're not going to let her out if she has no one to take care of her." Matt again groaned. "Matt! She's a fan! If we should help anyone it should be a fan!"

"That's a low blow," Matt grumbled acknowledging the fact that she had hit a nerve. None of them ever wanted to ignore their fans. "It's true that she is a fan and she was very sweet," he said sighing. "I'm just worried that she might...do what she did at the show. I...don't know what to do if that happens again."

"Aw," Amy said smiling as she snaked her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. "He's worried about Bella."

"So you're all right with this now," Jeff asked.

"Yeah," Matt replied nodding. "I'm all right with this."

"Good cause we all have to be at the hospital tomorrow at one for an interview," Jeff said.

"Fine," Matt said chuckling. "I suppose that's what you had come to tell us huh?" Jeff nodded.

"Thanks bro," Jeff said patting Matt on the back. "I really appreciate this."

"Just as long as you plan to walk and feed her," Matt laughed. Jeff gave him a look and left the room. Once outside he breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. Hopefully this time tomorrow he'd be talking to Bella on the way back to Cameron.

*~*~*~*

The next afternoon Matt, Amy and Jeff showed up for their meeting. "Mr Hardy, Miss Dumas," Nick said greeting them with a handshake and a warm smile. "We're in here." He led them into a conference room where three other people were there. "This is Michael Johnson, Mary Kenisky and Don McDonald," Nick said introducing his colleagues. "They've observed Bella also."

The three professionals eyed Matt and Amy and then spent extra time taking in Jeff. Matt and Amy were wearing windpants and baggy T-shirts while Jeff was wearing his favorite zebra striped pants and black mesh shirt. His hair was blue and yellow and he wore a Hardy Boyz hat. They looked at each other with frowns and then nodded for their guests to sit.

"Now...Mr Jeff Hardy," Michael said. "We understand that Miss Jacoby was speaking to you when she had her breakdown."

"Yes," Jeff replied.

"And now you want to... What was it that Dr Panciera had said? Look after Miss Jacoby," Mary asked.

"I can't see how you would think that you're better suited to handle her than we are," Don said.

"Look," Matt said before Jeff could reply. "You probably look at my brother and see some punk who's looking at Bella as a conquest, but I can assure you that Jeff truly wants to look out for her. He doesn't have an ulterior motive at all. Besides that he'll have myself and Amy to help out as well as our friends in the business."

"This...business," Don said as if he had a horrible taste in his mouth. "You work for World Wrestling Entertainment?"

"Yes," Amy replied. "And just because we wrestle for a living is no reason to look down on us."

"I didn't..."

"I saw the way you addressed our careers," Amy said not letting Don continue. "It's an honest living and nothing to scoff at. We put our bodies on the line to do what we love and people like you with your bland suits and your....OUCH!" Jeff had kicked her in the shin to get her to shut up. She glared at him while she rubbed her sore shin.

"Look," Jeff said finally. "We really want to help Bella. That's all we're saying. If, God forbid, she has another breakdown we'll get her the help that she needs. We just don't feel that she belongs here."

"Well," Nick said smiling at the two brothers and Amy. "I'd say that that's four votes to three."

Mary sighed. "All right Nick," she said. "You've made your point and honestly...I can't see keeping her here."

"As much as I don't like it," Michael began. "I have to agree." They all looked to Don.

"All right," Don said. "This is highly unusual circumstances though. You three better listen good now. If anything, anything at all sets Miss Jacoby off you need to get her to a facility that's capable of caring for her."

"We will," Matt, Jeff and Amy all said in unison.

"Great," Nick said unable to conceal his happiness. "If you follow me I'll get Bella all set to leave with you." He led them out of the conference room and onto the floor. "Wait here please." They all nodded and sat down on the couch in the common room.

Moments later Nick returned with Bella. "I think you know these three." He was smiling from ear to ear.

"Thank you," Bella said to him. "Please try not to worry too much about Jeremy. He's going to get his new heart soon and he's going to be just fine."

"Thank you," Nick said and patted her on the back.

"All ready," Jeff asked her. She nodded, unable to speak at the moment.

"We'll keep you posted on her," Matt said as they all left.

"So, I assume you need to get some clothes and stuff," Matt said smiling at Bella as they made their way to his car.

"Yeah," she said looking down at the scrub top and pants. "Puke green is just not my color." Amy started laughing.

"You are gonna get along great with us girly," she said and looked as if she wanted to sling her arm around her, but though better of it.

"I know it's awkward," Bella said to her. "I apreciate your friendship though."

"It won't always be this hard," Jeff said as he held open the car door for her. "I promise it won't."

*~*~*~*

Jeff followed Bella into the rundown apartment building while Matt and Amy waited in the car. "So this is where you live," Jeff said looking around her living room. The room had a couch, a TV and an easy chair and not much else in it. His eyes landed on a picture on the cofee table. He picked it up and looked at it. He could see Bella, who was much younger in the picture. He guessed she was about fourteen. Her long raven locks was krimped in chunks and was just to her shoulders instead of down to her waist like it was now. He also noted that she wasn't as thin in the picture as she was now. Her green eyes seemed to twinkle in the picture, a twinkle that Jeff realized she didn't have anymore. He heard a door click shut and he turned to see Bella dragging a suitcase behind her.

"I didn't know how much to pack," she said shyly. She looked up at him and saw the picture in his hand. "Those are my parents." She took the picture from him and ran a finger over her father's image. "Daddy died shortly after we took this picture. We were in a car accident."

"We," Jeff asked.

"Daddy and I," Bella replied placing the picture back on the coffee table. "A drunk driver hit us head on. Daddy wasn't wearing his seatbelt and he went through the windshield and died on impact. I was told that I was lucky enough to have my seatbelt on. I was in a coma for about two months." She sighed. "When I woke up I found out that I have this....I found out that I have visions when people touch me. I've been living with it ever since. God. That was when I was fifteen. Momma was heartbroken and never remarried. She died last year. The final report was a heart attack, but I know it was of a broken heart. Momma and Daddy had been together since high school. I was born when they were just out of high school. It was all very fairy tale."

Jeff smiled. "Sounds like you had a great childhood," he said. Before he could say more a car horn broke the silence and they heard Matt's impatient yelling. "We better get back to the car. Matt hates to hit the road too late."

"We're driving to the next city," Bella asked as Jeff grabbed her suitcase and led the way back down to the car.

"We're heading home," Jeff replied smiling as he threw her bag in the trunk. "We're off until Sunday when we have to be in New York. Raw's gonna be in the Garden Monday."

"Wow! Cameron," Bella said suddenly starstruck again. Jeff smiled and held open the door for her.

"You'll love it," he said proudly. "I can't wait to show you my favorite place to go and think and Liger!"

"Of course! Your dog," Bella said as she slid into the back seat with Jeff. "When I saw him in a magazine with you I just thought he was the cutest!"

"Ha! That beast," Matt laughed. "Cute?! He snores, he farts and he lies around like a bump on a log!"

"Matt's just jealous cause he's the only one that Liger doesn't like," Amy laughed. "I think he'll love you Bella."

*~*~*~*

"Liger! Here boy," Jeff called as they entered the Hardy house. "Liger! There you are boy! Come here!" Jeff sat down on the floor and pulled the happy dog into his lap. "I missed ya boy." Liger slurped his face and Jeff chuckled. Bella watched the exchange with a small smile. "Liger this is Bella Jacoby. She's Daddy's new friend."

Liger looked up as Bella knelt down to their level and held out her hand for the dog to sniff. Liger gave her hand a quick sniff and began licking her face. Bella giggled uncontrollably as she tried to fend off wildly lapping tongue.

"Traitor," Jeff said pouting when Liger finally calmed down and allowed Bella to scratch his belly. Bella laughed and nudged Liger over to Jeff. "No, no. I don't want a pity lick."

"You're too much," Bella giggled.

"Come on," Jeff said. "I'll show you the rest of the house."

*~*~*~*

"So," Jeff said casually as he and Bella lay on her bed. "This vision you had about me." She sighed loudly. "We don't have to talk about it if you don't want."

"It's not that I don't want to. I just don't know when it's going to happen or where," Bella said. "I just know that...I don't want it to happen."

"I don't want it to happen either," Jeff said. "Do you think that if you held my hand that you'd...."

"I can't do that," Bella said shaking her head. "I can't wind up back in some mental hospital."

"I'll be right here with you," Jeff said gently. "I just...if this is going to come true...I want to know when and where."

"Jeff...I can't," Bella said, her eyes filling with tears. "I don't want this to happen."

"Haven't all of your visions come true," he asked. She looked at her hands and nodded. "Then there's no way to avoid it. You can't change destiny." She sniffled, but didn't look at him. "If you start to feel like you did back at the convention center all you have to do is let go of my hand." He held out his hand to her. "Please?" She drew in a shuddering breath as she sat up and wiped her eyes.

Hesitantly she reached out and took his hand. She saw the flash of crimson and braced herself for the overwhelming feeling of pain and grief.

Bella found herself in the crowd once again, but this time it was several minutes earlier than the vision before. She glanced at the ring and saw Jeff pull the famous huge metal ladder out from under the ring. He set it up outside the ring next to four tables that were stacked outside the ring. She saw RVD sprawled out on top of the tables and watched helplessly as Jeff climbed the ladder. He did the guns and then dove into his swanton bomb.

Bella watched horrified as RVD rolled off the tables and Jeff hit them headfirst. His body sprawled in a sickening angle and blood dripped from his mouth and ears.

Bella wrenched her hand from Jeff's and buried her head in her hands. "Bella," Jeff said softly. "It's ok. I'm here. What'd you see?" When she didn't reply he moved closer to her.

"Please," she sobbed. "Don't touch me. Let me calm down. Please." Jeff nodded and sat helplessly as he watched the frail girl go through the roller coaster of emotions that were raging inside of her. "This is just the most awful thing that I've ever seen," she said once she was somewhat calmer. "I couldn't tell where it happens, but RVD was your opponent."

"I face RVD on Raw," Jeff said quietly.

"You..um...brought out the big ladder and there were tables set up at ringside. You did the Swanton and....that's how it happens."

"But there's not supposed to be tables in our match," Jeff said. "It can't be on Raw."

"I'm tired now," Bella said weakly. "The visions take a toll on me sometimes."

"All right," Jeff said. "I'll let you get some sleep. Thank you for doing this. I'm sorry that I made you do this tonight." He left the room, closing the door behind him and Bella curled up into a ball on the bed and cried herself to sleep.

*~*~*~*

"You all right," Amy asked when Bella came down to breakfast. Bella's eyes were puffy and had dark circles under them.

"I'm good," she said smiling weakly.

"Listen Matt and I are getting together with a couple of people from work. Would you like to come?"

"I don't know," Bella said.

"If you don't come then Jeff won't want to come either," Amy said gently. "Come on. You can't stay locked away all the time. It's not good for you honey."

"You don't know what it's like," Bella replied. "You have no idea what it's like to live one day of my life. I wake up in the morning and pray that these visions have just gone away. You don't know what it's like to fear touching someone because I don't know if I'm going to see their death or feel their great pain."

"I'm sorry Bella," Amy said. "I just...I want so badly for you to make friends, I mean besides Jeff, Matt and I." Bella bit her lip. "Undertaker and Kane will be there and Shannon Moore and Shane Helms. What do you say?"

"All right," Bella said smiling. "It's just hard to get back into the social scene. I've been a hermit for just about six years. I would really love to meet Undertaker and Kane."

Amy smiled and then got serious. "Bella? What did you see when you shook hands with Matt and I? I've been wondering ever since Jeff told me what was up."

"I saw your wedding," Bella said smiling as she grabbed an apple and went into the living room. Amy stared after her stunned at first, but then a wide smile spread across her face.

*~*~*~*

"Are you ready yet," Amy and Matt called to Jeff and Bella. They knew that Jeff would take a while to get ready, but they had no idea that Bella would too.

Matt brushed some lint off his black dress pants and straightened the collar on his deep purple button down shirt. Amy wore a black leather mini skirt with a lilac sheer top with a purple bra underneath and knee high black clunky boots. Her flaming red hair had purple and lilac butterfly clips holding back chunks of hair.

Moments later Jeff came down the stairs. His hair was freshly dyed red and it was slicked back into a ponytail. He wore a crimson mesh shirt and red leather leopard print pants. "Where's Bella," he asked.

"Right here," she said from the steps. They all looked up towards her and stared stunned. Her waist length hair had soft waves in it and half was pulled back with crimson rose shaped clips. She wore a black sheer shirt with long ruffled sleeves and crimson trim over a black lace bra and an ankle length skirt with a ruffle and matching crimson trim down the bottom. On her feet were black four inch open toe heels with crimson roses across the toes.

"You look wonderful," Amy squealed finally. "I must borrow that some day." Bella blushed and came down the stairs to join them.

"Let's get going," Jeff said smiling. "You really do look lovely," he whispered to Bella as they left.

*~*~*~*

"About time you got here," Shannon said when they entered the club. Various other WWE employees were milling around and dancing. Bella spotted Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson slow dancing in the corner. While Trish Stratus and Shane Helms chatted at the bar. Shane spotted all of them and waved as he excused himself to say hello to his friends.

"We had to wait for Jeff," Matt replied with a laugh.

"I'm surprised the boy ever gets out of the house," Shane laughed. "With all that primping he does." By that time they both had spotted Bella. "And who is this lovely lady?"

"Down Shane," Amy said rolling her eyes. "This is Bella Jacoby. She's a fan."

"Hey this party is for employees only," a deep voice said from behind them. They all turned to see Mark Calloway standing there with his hands on his hips. His stern look softened and he laughed. "Man I love doing that to you people! Lighten up would you?! Come on in Bella. I'll introduce you around" Jeff was going to warn Mark not to touch Bella, but something made him hold his tongue.

He watched as Mark laid a hand on her shoulder. She cringed, but then relaxed as if nothing happened. Mark however looked down at her quickly and then led her over to the table where he, Glen Jacobs, Kevin Nash and Paul Wight had been sitting and talking. Seeing that Bella was fine with Mark, Jeff relaxed and chatted with Shannon and Shane a while.

*~*~*~*

Mark grabbed Glen and escorted Bella to someplace where they could talk a little more privately. Bella had a mixture of happiness and terror on her face as she sat down at a table with Kane and Undertaker, two of her most favorite wrestlers. She was confused as to why when Mark had laid his hand on her shoulder, she didn't get any visions.

"She's a seer," Mark said to Glen quietly. Glen looked at his friend in disbelief and then at the small woman before him.

"May I," he asked motioning to her hand. She nodded not knowing what was going on and watched as he took her hand. Again she got nothing from him. No visions at all. "I can't believe it," Glen finally said.

"What's going on," Bella asked confused.

Mark sighed. "You don't know?" She shook her head no. "You went through some trauma when you were younger huh?" She nodded. "That's usually how the gift is awakened. You're a seer Bella. You have the gift of sight. Not everyone has it."

"How do you..."

"Mark and I have it too," Glen replied smiling. "I was in a fire when I was a child, much like Kane, except my burns have long since healed. Mark here lost his first wife in a car accident. It's different for many people, but usually a trauma or great loss brings it out."

"I was in an accident with my father when I was fifteen," Bella said. Mark and Glen nodded.

"No one explained anything about this gift to you? Your mother?"

"Momma died last year," Bella replied. "She never knew about my visions."

"Yes she did," Glen said. Bella shook her head, but he insisted gently. "It's passed down from mother to child. She herself had the gift although she must not have told you."

"I don't understand," Bella said. "Why was I given this? This isn't a gift. It's a curse."

Mark reached out and took her hand, stroking it with his thumb. "Easy little one," he said gently. "It is a gift. You were chosen because you can empathize with the pain that others will go through and relish in the joys that will come to their lives." She stared at him in awe. "These visions are meant for you to try to help people." She brightened at these words.

"Then I can prevent it from happening to Jeff," she said more to herself than to them.

"Oh yes," Glen replied and she looked shocked. "Mark and I can see your past visions...well....the most joyful and the most painful ones. Jeff's vision was the only painful one that remained vividly clear in your memory banks."

"This is going to happen on Raw little one," Mark said gently and again she looked at him stunned.

"How do you know?"

"The banners hanging and part of the set is clear in your vision. Besides since the brand extension Jeff only wrestles on Raw." She nodded and finally understood. Her pain must have been overpowering her thought processes.

"So how do I stop this," she asked anxious to get started.

"Not here," Glen said. "We will help you, but not tonight. We have 3 more days before we have to be at the arena for Raw in Greensboro. We promise we'll help you."

"Thank you," Bella said. "Now...I have another question."

"You need to build up a wall around your psyche to keep sane," Mark replied smiling. "I can also read thoughts," he replied with a chuckle before she could ask how he knew what she was going to ask. "One of my many gifts. Someday I'll reveal all of them to you."

"It's very simple to do," Glen said. "Just think of the happiest memory you have and the pain and sorrow will slowly go away. You don't have to cut yourself off from the world." They saw Jeff coming over to them.

"I think your companion is lonesome," Mark said smiling. "We'll be in touch with you."

"Hey guys. Mind if I steal this lovely lady away from you," he asked.

"Go right ahead," Mark said smiling. "Have fun little one. Glen and I will be in touch." Bella smiled gratefully at them and nodded.

"What was that all about," Jeff asked.

"They're going to help," she said smiling. He looked at her blankly. "They know what I'm going through. They have visions too." Jeff smiled and led her back over to his friends and brother to hang out.

*~*~*~*

Early Sunday afternoon Mark and Glen showed up to pick up Bella. "Have fun with Mark and Glen," Jeff told Bella with a smile. "They're great guys."

"He's only saying that because we're bigger than he is," Glen laughed. Bella couldn't help laughing. There was something about Mark and Glen's energy that just seemed to make her relax.

"Now," Mark said once they were sitting on a blanket in an open field where they took her for a picnic. "Give me one of your hands and give Glen the other and close your eyes." Bella hesitated. "We need to see exactly what happens in order to know how to stop this horrible vision from coming true."

"But I..."

"I know you never got to see the entire vision little one," he said gently. "It's still there. The fact that it was painful for you prevented you from seeing the entire vision. Glen and I will help you see the entire vision and then we can see how to prevent it." With a deep sigh Bella took Mark and Glen's hands and closed her eyes. As before she saw the flash of crimson and the vision began.

Bella made her way to the front row just as the Hardy's music started. She took her seat and prepared to watch a history making match. Jeff climbed into the ring and winked to her as he gracefully hopped up onto the turnbuckle and did ths guns. He stood in the ring waiting for RVD to come out.

The match started out fast and furious with both men exchanging blows and topping each other with breathtaking aerial moves. Bella glanced around the ring and noticed that tables that were left over from the the Buh Buh Ray match earlier were still set up next to the ring. A movement caught her eye and she saw RVD setting up a ladder inside the ring. He bagan to climb it and reach for the intercontinental belt hanging over the ring, but Jeff knocked him off and onto the floor outside.

Tossing RVD onto the tables Bella saw Jeff pull the famous huge metal ladder out from under the ring. He set it up outside the ring next to the four tables that were stacked outside the ring. She watched helplessly as Jeff climbed the ladder. He did the guns and then dove into his swanton bomb.

Bella's tiny hands tightened around Mark and Glen's. "It's all right," Glen said softly. "We're here for you. Remember this hasn't happened yet. We're going to prevent it."

Bella watched horrified as RVD rolled off the tables and Jeff hit them headfirst. His body sprawled in a sickening angle and blood dripped from his mouth and ears. RVD's eyes grew wide as saucers and he frantically tossed aside bits and pieces of table to get to Jeff. JR and the King were hysterical at the announce table.

"Someone get some help," RVD yelled and went back to Jeff's side. Matt and Amy came running out to ringside. Bella could see tears in Amy's eyes.

EMTs rushed to Jeff and began to work on him. She watched as the EMTs finally gave up and placed a white sheet over his face.

Tears were streaming down Bella's cheeks as she wrenched her hands out of Mark and Glen's. Mark pulled her into an embrace while Glen poured her a glass of wine and handed it to her. "Her little one," Mark cooed. "Sip this slowly."

"It seems to me that if we manage to clear the tables from ringside before the match this whole thing can be avoided for now," Glen said thoughtfully. Mark and Bella looked at him curiously. "He shook my hand when we got there to pick Bella up. I see tomorrow night's fatality being avoided, but.....he's a daredevil in matches. There's no protecting him forever. We may have to accept the fact that this might be his fate. You can only cheat death so many times before it catches up with you."

"What is the sense in having this gift if you can't stop something horrible from happening," Bella yelled.

"Sometimes it's more about the little things rather than the big picture," Mark said. "Maybe it's just our job to keep Jeff alive for a little while longer because there's something he needs to do before he dies."

Bella's eyes began to tear again. "I don't want him to die at all."

"None of us want the ones we love to die," Glen said. "Yes, you do love him. You've loved him since the first time you saw him wrestle. You've been using your visions as an excuse not to get close to him. I think that this vision is meant to save you more so than him." Bella and Mark looked at the big man before them in stunned silence. Mark hadn't picked any of this up from Bella and he was in awe that his best friend had. Then again it wasn't so extraordinary considering Glen had the gift longer.

"I agree with Glen," Mark finally said. "Make your time with Jeff memorable. Live every day as if it was your last and see where that leads you by the time the vision pans out."

Bella nodded and looked at her hands. "I think I'd like to go home now. I'm quite tired." Mark and Glen nodded and they packed up the picnic and drove her back to the Hardy house.

*~*~*~*

Bella sat in her room looking out the window as she mulled over what Glen had told her. Maybe she was using the visions as an excuse not to get close to Jeff.

With a sigh she stood up and made up her mind to find Jeff and get to know him better. He was, after all, her favorite wrestler on the whole WWE roster. It couldn't be so bad to get to know Jeff. She hadn't realized that she had been so lost in thought until she bumped right into Matt.

"Whoa there," he said smiling. "Penny for your thoughts?"

"Have you seen your brother," she asked blushing slightly.

"Yeah," Matt said. "He's out in the garage strummin' on his guitar. I think he may be writing some songs, but I'm sure he won't mind the inerruption."

"Thanks," she said. She made her way out to the garage and listened. Jeff was definitely writing a song. She heard him strum the guitar and then sing a few words before he got quiet. After listening for a while she stepped into the doorway and knocked lightly.

"Hi," he said smiling wide when he saw her. "Come on in." She came in and sat down on a box next to him and took a look at the paper he'd been scribbling on. "I've just been working on some songs for my band."

"Yeah," she replied smiling. "I read about it online. I can't wait to hear it."

"I could play you something if you want," Jeff said.

"I'd like that," she replied smiling.

Jeff smiled proudly and cleared his throat before he began to strum on the guitar and sing softly. When the song finished he looked at her almost shyly. "It still needs a few tweaks here and there, but...."

"I thought it was great," she said. "Very well written."

"Thanks," he said smiling. "So, what brings you out here anyway?"

"Just wanted to get to know my favorite wrestler a little better...I mean since you're stuck with me and all."

"I'm not stuck," he said. "This was my idea remember? I really like you Bella. I need to make a confession." She nodded encouraging him to go on. "When I shook your hand I sorta felt something...more than just a handshake. It was odd....like we'd met in a past life or something."

"I felt the same way when I first saw you on TV," she confessed. "Jeff?" She bit her lip. "Glen told me something that...I don't know if it's true."

"What'd he say?"

"He told me that I was in love with you," she replied. He looked at her a bit shocked.

"Is it true," he asked.

"I don't know," she replied. "I need to do something."

"What?"

"This," she said and leaned forward placing a kiss on his lips. Jeff hesitated at first, but then cupped her face with his hands and deepened the kiss. When the kiss ended he looked at her, not knowing what to say about her sudden bravery.

"You...you didn't have another horrible vision?"

"No," she said shaking her head. "I had a wonderful one."

"What was it," Jeff asked.

"You and I getting closer," she replied and leaned her head on his shoulder.

"I think I like that one," he said smiling as he kissed her forehead.

*~*~*~*

By Monday night Bella was once again a nervous wreck. She hoped that Glen and Mark had made the orders clear that all tables were to be taken away from ringside after the Buh Buh Ray Dudley match.

"I'll be fine," Jeff said when he was about to leave for his match. "I promise. I think I found something worth living for." He gave her a quick kiss on the lips and made his way to the curtains.

Bella stood a little stunned that no vision had come to her when Jeff kissed her. Truth be told, since they shared that moment in the garage she hadn't had anymore visions about Jeff and that worried her more. It was like he had fallen off of her radar somehow.

Mark and Glen entered the locker room to watch the match with Bella. Mark took one look at her and saw what was worrying her. "Just because you don't see a vision for him doesn't mean he has no future," he said softly. "Remember what we said about happy memories?" She nodded. "Well, also being happy is a way to deter the visions. It doesn't mean you'll never get them again, but they'll come less frequently now."

"Excuse me Glen," Trish Stratus said tapping on the door and then peeking in. "Um..could you help me with something a moment. Oh! Sorry I didn't know you were with a friend."

"Trish," Mark said smiling at the petite woman. "Please, come in. Bella's Jeff's friend."

"Oh," Trish said as she eyed the younger woman up and down. A pang of jelousy raced through her, but she shoved it aside and flashed a bright smile.

"Now, now," Mark said gently to Trish. "You know that you and Jeff were not meant to be, Kitten. You'll find someone who'll be everything that you ever dreamed of, but Jeff isn't it. We've discussed this before haven't we?"

"I'm sorry," Trish said blushing. "I just....Jeff's really special," she said to Bella.

"I know," Bella replied. "No need to apologize. I'd be jealous too if I was in your place." Trish smiled and held out her hand for Bella to shake. Bella took her hand and shook it with a smile.

"Glen...I really do need your help with a move," she said. "It was nice meeting you Bella."

"Nice meeting you too," Bella replied. "Oh and Congratulations!"

"On what," Trish asked stopping at the door.

"Winning the women's title at the next pay per view." Trish's smile widened from ear to ear as she left with Glen.

"Made you happy to see Trish Stratus jealous of you didn't it," Mark asked with a smirk. Bella blushed. "Hey I can't blame ya. She may play a confident bombshell on TV, but in real life she's just as insecure as the rest of us."

"Mark," Bella asked as she took a seat on the couch beside him. "Jeff told me a while ago that we have pain in common. What did he mean?"

"Oh little one," Mark said sighing. "It's not my place to say really. I think his pain goes deeper than even I can see. He's shoved it down deep inside of him where only he knows the true root of it. I do know that the loss of his mother has much to do with it. Losing his father just last year has helped add to the pain, but something in his past between those events has hurt him deeply and he doesn't want to feel the pain anymore." He paused and sighed. "Bella, if you want to know what he meant you have to ask him, but do it gently. I might not be able to sense exactly what it is, but I do know that it's a highly touchy subject with him."

"Thank you Mark," Bella said. Action on the monitor caught both their eyes and they turned their attention to Jeff's ladder match.

*~*~*~*

"That's gonna hurt for a coupla days," Jeff said grimacing as he held an ice pack to his ribs. "I told Rob not to go so hard with the damn ladder."

"Poor thing," Bella said and began to massage his shoulders. They were sitting on the edge of his bed back home. The main benefit of Raw being in North Carolina was that Jeff and Matt could just drive home afterward to nurse their wounds. Jeff closed his eyes and let his muscles loosen as she rubbed out all the kinks that that the ladder match had created. "Jeff," she said softly in his ear. "You remember a while ago you told me that we have something in common?"

"Yes," he replied. "We do. Pain."

"What do you mean though," she asked. "I just don't...."

"We've both lost our parents," he replied.

"But there's something deeper," she gently prodded. He hung his head and sighed loudly.

"I swore I'd never talk to anyone about this," he said and turned to face her. "Something tells me that I can trust you though."

He took a deep breath and began his tale. "Back before Matt and I made it in the WWF I was seeing this girl. I loved her very much and she loved me too. Well, around the time Matt and I signed contracts with the WWF she found out that she was pregnant. I loved her with all my heart...I truly did, but I just wasn't ready to be a father. I convinced her to get an abortion, but I couldn't be there with her when she went because I was scheduled to be in a house show in California."

"When I came home the next day and visited her..." His eyes took on a glassy distant look as he spoke now. "I found her lying in bed... the blanket and sheets were drenched in blood. I got her to the hospital and within an hour she had died."

He sniffled and ground the tears out of his eyes with his palms. "Turns out the guy that did the abortion wasn't really a doctor and he botched it. My last memory of Adrienne was of her covered in blood, pale and turning blue. She bled to death because I didn't want to be a daddy. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't hate myself for not having the balls to be a man and accept my responsiblities."

"Jeff," Bella said softly. "You had no idea that would happen. You've been beating yourself up about this all these years?" He nodded and looked down at his hands, sure that she'd never want to speak to him again after hearing what he had just told her. She gently turned him to face her. "It wasn't your fault. It was the monster who botched the abortion who killed her Jeff."

"But I begged her to go," he replied breaking down for the first time since he lost Adrienne. "Since then I've put my heart and soul into my work. Some of the stunts I used to pull were because I was hoping that I'd die doing it and be able to see her again. I only stopped when Matt begged me to and because I couldn't stand the pain I was inflicting on him and Amy."

Bella held him and placed feather light kissed on his face. "It's not your falut," she crooned. Soon he had cried himself to sleep in her arms. Not having the heart to leave him she settled back and closed her eyes. "You're right. We do share pain although my pain doesn't seem so significant compared to yours," she said softly. "I am going to try my best to make your pain go away. I owe you that much since you went out of your way to help me."

*~*~*~*

The next morning Jeff awoke and found Bella nestled in his arms. He smiled as he watched her sleeping, but then a horrible feeling of guilt overtook him. He remembered telling her all about Adrienne and how much he loved and missed her. Worst of all he had told her that he was responsible for her death. Gently pulling away from her he crept out of bed and over to the window. Gazing out at the rising sun he sighed and grabbed his boots. He needed to think and the only place he could do that was his special place. Quietly he left the room and the house.

When Bella woke a couple of hours later she was a little shocked to find the bed empty. Sitting up she gazed around the room hoping that Jeff was just rising himself, but he was nowhere to be found. Frowning she got up and went into the hall. She heard Matt and Amy in the kitchen and headed down to see if they'd seen Jeff.

"Morning sleepyhead," Amy said cheerfully.

"Where's Jeff," Matt asked with a smile. "Amy's making her famous eggs."

"I was hoping you knew," Bella replied frowning as she took a seat at the counter next to Matt.

"He wasn't in his room when you got up," Amy asked as she whisked some eggs. Bella shook her head no.

"He didn't tell you he was goin' anywhere this morning," Matt asked. Again Bella shook her head no.

"We were talking last night," Bella said softly. "About Adrienne." Matt's eyes widened at the mention of that name.

"Who," Amy asked, setting down the bowl of eggs.

"Adrienne was Jeff's girlfriend a long time ago, before we met Aims," Matt replied. "Some butcher botched an abortion and she bled to death. Jeff found her the next morning." Amy dropped the whisk in shock and had to sit down. "If that's what you were talking about then there's only one place he could have gone." Amy and Bella waited expectantly for him to continue. "It's a little house by the lake. Mom used to take us there when we were little. It was where we used to go when we ran away from home or when we just needed to sit and think."

"Jeff sorta made it his second home when Adrienned died. He spent months there just brooding. He wouldn't come home when we had days off. I don't think he even ate or slept much during that time. Vince gave him a month or two off to collect himself. He could see how the loss was affecting him, but Jeff came back after a couple of weeks off. He said working helped him not to feel. That was the last I ever got out of him about her death."

"Matt," Bella said softly. "Where is this place?"

"It's not far from here," he replied and pulled car keys out of his pocket. "Take my car. You can't miss it. It's the only house by the lake." Matt sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I hope to God that he's not back in the state of mind he was when Adrienne died."

"Why," Amy asked softly, not really wanting to hear the answer.

"Because the last time he was there...I had to drag him back home," Matt said sadly. "When I found him he had a razor to his wrist and an empty bottle of Jack on the floor. If I hadn't walked in on the scene I'd have lost my baby brother." Bella grabbed Matt's hand reassuringly. There was sudden flash of cimson and she knew what was coming.

Bella found herself standing there as Matt and Amy crumpled to the floor crying and holding onto one another. A policeman stood in the doorway looking very grim. His hands were stained with blood.

Shaking herself out of it Bella remembered Glen's thoughts that dying young was Jeff's destiny. Without another word she ran out to Matt's car and hopped in, peeling out of the driveway.

*~*~*~*

Bella drove to the lake like a bat out of hell, praying that she wasn't too late. She finally spotted the little house Matt had been talking about. Parking haphazardly by Jeff's motorcycle she scanned the lake to see if she saw him. Not seeing him she threw the door open and peered into the house.

It was covered with nearly a foot of dust. Spiderwebs clung to the corners of rooms and what little furniture there was in the home. She quietly made her way in listening for Jeff. Hearing a sob come from a back room she rushed towards it. She found him sitting slumped on the floor with his head in his hands.

"Jeff," she said softly entering the room. He looked up at her with a tear streaked face. "I was worried about you. Matt said..."

"Matt told you how he found me here," Jeff said smiling weakly. "I wasn't here for that this time. I just needed to think."

"About what," she asked and knelt down next to him.

"About Adrienne...about life....about us," he replied wiping his face with his shirt. "The problem was...once I came here...I felt Adrienne all around me...she loved to come here with me...it's like she never really left."

"Jeff," she said biting her lip. "If it's too soon for you to be with anyone I'll understand...."

"It's not that at all," Jeff said taking her hand and kissing it. "I love being with you. I feel like...we've known each other forever. I can't imagine my life without you in it now." She blushed. "But talking about Adrienne last night...brought back all these emotions that I had shoved deep down inside me for so long. Maybe I needed them to be purged from my system....I don't know. What I do know is that right now I feel...confused." He sighed and looked into her eyes. "I feel like I'm betraying Adrienne by being with you, but....at the same time I can't stand to think of life without you in it. I came here hoping to clear my mind, but all it did was make me miss Adrienne more."

"Oh Jeff," Bella said and caressed his face. "I love being with you too, but if you're not ready then you can't force it." Suddenly she looked confused.

"What," Jeff asked seeing her expression change drastically.

"You've been holding my hand for a while now and I just touched your face and...nothing...not a single flash or anything....."

"I don't understand," Jeff replied.

"When I took Matt's hand after he had told me about the last time you were here I saw Amy and Matt being told bad news from a cop. When I touch you I get nothing," she said. "I think I need to talk to Mark and Glen." She got to her feet and looked down at Jeff. "I will be here for you when you finally decide what you want, friend or girlfriend, Jeff. I'm not going to be hurt or upset if you decide it's too soon for you to love again." With that she left him.

"Little one this better be good to have woken me up," Mark grumbled as he met Bella and Glen in the lobby of their hotel.

"It happened again," Bella said knowing that Mark knew what she was talking about.

"We've already told you," Mark began, but Bella cut him off.

"Guys," she said. "I got the vision from Matt, but nothing at all from Jeff. That just doesn't add up. I wasn't happy at the time either. I was upset because..."

"Jeff's told you about his lost love," Glen said.

"How did you..."

"I had a inkling that that was the pain he buried deep inside. I think you may be right about this Bella." Mark grumbled loudly. "Mark you're just upset because we have to do some work." Mark snorted in frustration and sighed. "You think Jeff would mind us paying him a little visit?"

*~*~*~*

"Hey Mark, Glen," Matt said smiling. "What brings you here?"

"Bella," Mark grumbled.

"Where's Jeff," Glen asked poking Mark in the ribs with his elbow. "We need to talk to him."

"He's in his room," Matt said. "He came back just about ten minutes ago and went straight to his room." Glen nodded and motioned for Bella to lead the way.

"Jeff," Bella said knocking softly as she opened the door.

"I've been expecting you guys," he said smiling weakly. "Guess Bella's told you about her lack of visions for me now huh?"

"Yeah she did," Mark said sitting down next to Jeff. "This doesn't necessarily mean something bad."

"Can't be good," Jeff said and sighed.

"Jeff, just take my hand," Mark said. Jeff listened and Glen sat on the other side of him and took his other hand.

Bella stood by and watched as Mark and Glen sat there with Jeff's hands in theirs. After a moment they released his hands and looked at her puzzled. "You sure you didn't get anything from him," Glen asked.

"Positive," she replied. "Why?"

"Let me have your hand," Mark said, ignoring her question. She placed her tiny hand into his and glanced at Jeff, who was watching them with curiosity. "Little one...I don't know how to explain this."

"What is it," Bella asked nervously.

"You're gift seems to have...how should I put this....evolved...yes I think that's the appropriate word." Bella looked at him totally bewildered. "You no longer see things as they will happen in the future...you see people's emotions."

"She's like an empath," Glen said.

"I think so," Mark said. "It's the only thing I can think of because I got something from Jeff and this image was very vivid."

"But then why does she get nothing from me," Jeff asked not understanding anything.

"That's easy," Glen said smiling warmly. "You recently told her about your lost love. That's churned up old emotions and along with your new emotions...well...you're like a blank slate emotionwise right now."

"I think I get it now," Bella said. "Yes. It makes sense now. I have always felt my visions emotionally...sometimes more vividly than seeing them."

"So we helped," Mark asked. Bella nodded. "Good then I can go back to the hotel and get back to sleep." Glen chuckled as Mark rose and winked at Bella before he left the room.

"Thank you so much," Bella said smiling. "I really appreciate it."

"Anytime," Glen said giving her a hug. "Never be afraid to call on us. Despite his grumbling Mark loves to teach young people about our gifts."

Once they were alone Bella looked to Jeff, who was sitting on the bed staring at his feet. "Jeff," she said softly.

"Stop," he said not raising his eyes. "I know what you're going to say and I don't want to hear it."

"Really? Now you're psychic," Bella fumed. "What was I going to say? Huh? Go ahead! Amaze me!"

Jeff stared at the normally calm girl before him. "You were going to tell me that I'm not ready to...." He trailed off when she began shaking her head.

"I wasn't going to say that at all," she replied. "I was going to suggest that I should go back home."

"NO! You can't do that," Jeff said.

"Why not?"

"I know that the last thing you wanted to hear was that I still miss Adrienne."

"You know nothing then Jeff," Bella replied. "I'd think you were a pod person if you felt nothing for her just because she died. She was an important part of your life and you lost her. There's no way that I can compete with her in your heart. I can't do this Jeff...It hurts...more than any vision."

"I don't want you to compete with her," he replied and pulled her into his lap. "I don't want to feel so strongly for her anymore Bella."

"What do you want me to do Jeff," she asked her lips inches from his.

"Make me forget her," he replied softly, locking eyes with her. "Kiss me and make the pain and sorrow go away."

She closed her eyes as he pressed his lips to hers. At that point in time nothing else in the world mattered. All that mattered to them was each other and the kiss that was slowly turning more and more passionate.

"Jeff and Bella have been quite quiet," Amy remarked as she washed the dishes left over from breakfast. "Why don't you go check on them." Matt groaned, but went upstairs to check on them. He crept along the hall and peeked in through the half open door. His jaw almost dropped when he saw Bella sleeping in Jeff's arms. Both were barely covered by a sheet. He was about to creep away when Jeff's eyes opened and he spotted Matt. He smiled at his big brother's shocked expression. Matt had always been the more modest of them. He gently crept out of bed and grabbed his shorts that had been tossed on the floor.

"What are you doing," Matt finally hissed when the shock had worn off and he could think again.

"What," Jeff said innocently.

"You know what I mean," Matt grumbled. "I swore to the board back at the hospital that she wasn't going to be a conquest for you."

Jeff chuckled and placed a hand on Matt's shoulder to calm him. "Relax," he said when he felt how tense Matt was. "She's not a conquest. Trish was a conquest. Bella...Bella is the rest of my life."

"You sure about that," Matt asked amazed at how quickly Jeff could fall in love. "I mean...you haven't even thought of love since...."

"You can say it Matt," Jeff said smiling. "I know I haven't wanted to love since Adrienne. Bella...changed all that."

"I love her Matt and that's all that matters to me."

"You're right," Matt said smiling. "I haven't seen you this happy in a long time. I'm glad you found each other. I..um...have something I need to do." Matt left Jeff and went back down to where Amy was just putting away the dishes. He snuck up behind her and slid his arms around her waist.

"What are you doing," she asked with a chuckle as she turned in his arms and faced him. "Are they all right?"

"They're fine," Matt said smiling. "What do you say we go out for a little while."

"Where to," Amy asked.

"Oh I know this little jewelry store that I'd like to take you to," he replied and kissed the tip of her nose.

"A jewelry store," Amy said puzzled. "Why would you....and then she remembered Bella's vision. Matthew Moore Hardy is this what I think it is?"

He smiled wider and nodded. "I guess Jeff and Bella's relationship has taught me something."

"What's that? How not to be a tight ass," she chuckled.

"Well, there's that, but what they taught me was to live for today. Today I'm asking you Amy Dumas, will you marry me?"

"Oh Matt," she cried, her eyes filling with tears. "Yes!"

"About time," Jeff said from the kitchen doorway. Matt and Amy turned to see Jeff with Bella in his arms, both were smiling wide.

"I told you I saw your wedding," Bella said smiling.

"Come on," Matt said taking Amy's hand. "Let's go get you a ring." Amy nodded and allowed Matt to all but drag her out to his car.

Jeff gave Bella a squeeze and kissed her forehead. "Are you getting anything from me now?"

She nodded with with a smile. Her eyes began to tear as the emotion she felt flowing from Jeff overwhelmed her. "I'm getting it Jeff. I understand how you feel now."

*~*~*~*

"Oh Amy you look so beautiful," Bella said taking Amy's hands. They both admired the redhead's reflection in the full length mirror.

"I just can't believe that Matt still had his mother's wedding gown and it fits so perfectly," Amy cried happily. She looked to Bella, who had been staring at her for a while. "What?"

"When were you going to tell me," Bella asked with a sly smile.

"Tell you what," Amy replied.

"That Jeff and I are going to be an aunt and uncle," Bella replied still smiling.

Amy's jaw dropped and she floundered for words. "How did you..." was all she finally managed to say.

"You're sending off two signals instead of just one now Aims," Bella replied.

"I wasn't sure," Amy said placing a hand on her stomach. "I wasn't 100% sure, but I've been feeling really run down and craving the strangest things. Oh Bella! Do you think that Matt will be happy?"

"Happy about what," Jeff asked as he entered the bridal suite.

"Honey," Bella said as Jeff slid an arm aroun her waist. "Amy and Matt are going to have a baby." A smile spread across Jeff's face at the news.

"Then it's a good thing you're getting married today," he chuckled. "Matt's the traditional one in the family."

"We're ready for you Amy," Stephanie said poking her head in the room. Amy nodded and went to take her place.

"I still think that you should have been Amy's maid of honor," Jeff said once Amy had gone and they could hear music playing.

"I already told you," Bella said chuckling. "It's just a title. Amy's known Stephanie longer." Jeff smiled. "Come on. Let's go watch your brother get married."

*~*~*~*

The ceremony was exactly how Bella had seen it in her vision. Amy looked radiant and Matt was just so handsome in his tuxedo. They exchanged vows and were announced as Mr and Mrs Matthew Moore Hardy as their friends and family cheered loudly.

While at the reception Bella, who had been dancing with Glen, was tapped on the shoulder. Turning around she saw Dr Nick Panciera.

"It's good to see you in such high spirits," he said smiling. "I ran into Jeff outside. He was talking to a couple of friends. Guess they don't allow smoking in here. I just wanted to tell you the wonderful news. My brother got his new heart last night. Doctors say he's going to make a full recovery. I just wanted to thank you for giving me hope."

"I just told you what I saw," Bella said smiling and then pulled him in for a tight hug. "Don't worry about him. He's going to be just fine now."

"Thank you Bella," he said, his eyes full of happy tears. He waved and left the reception.

"Didn't we tell you this was a gift," Glen said to her smiling wide. "Why don't you and Jeff dance now. This old man is getting tired." He waved Jeff over and he and Bella began to dance as Glen went to sit with Mark.

"Think they'll make it," Glen asked.

"I know they will and so do you," Mark replied smiling as they watched Jeff and Bella dancing and smiling.

*~*~*~*

"So how many houses do we have to look at today," Jeff asked as he took a sip of juice. It had been a couple of days since Matt and Amy went away for their honeymoon and both Jeff and Bella felt that they needed the whole house to themselves. Especially with a baby on the way.

"I was thinking that we would stop looking for a new house," Bella replied sitting down next to him.

"You know we can't still live here. Matt and Amy will need the extra rooms now."

"I was thinking...maybe we could fix up the lake house," Bella said biting her lip.

"I never thought of that," Jeff said thoughtfully.

"I'll understand if you don't want to..." She was silenced by a finger on her lips.

"I love the idea. That way we'll be close enough to visit Matt and Amy, but far enough away to have our own little piece of paradise. I love it and I love you." He pulled Bella into his lap and kissed her.

"So, if Matt's the traditional one in the family...that makes you the rebel?"

"I guess you could say that. I don't like to do many things the traditional way."

"That's good," Bella said smiling slyly.

"What are you up to," he asked suspiciously.

"Well, we might need to add a room onto the house before we move in," Bella said innocently.

"Why would we need to do that," Jeff asked. "It's just the right size for us."

"Not once the baby comes along," Bella replied.

"Why would we need an extra room for Matt and Amy's kid....." He stopped talking as realization hit him. "Bella you're..." She nodded. "Seriously?" She nodded again.

"I hope you don't mind that I picked out names already," she said shyly.

"Of course I don't mind. What are they?"

"Adrienne for a girl and Adrian for a boy. Do you like them?"

"I love them," he replied and kissed her. "You do know that Matt's gonna make us get married now."

"And that's a bad thing?"

"Not at all," Jeff said smiling.

*~*~*~*

Two weeks later they met Matt and Amy at the airport, excited to share their news. "Hey guys! How was Puerto Rico," Bella asked.

"One big pukefest," Matt replied.

"This morning sickness is a lot worse than I thought it would be," Amy replied looking a little green.

"Tell me about it," Bella said sympathizing.

"How would you..." Matt's question trailed off when he saw the sly looks that Bella and Jeff exchanged.

"Oh my God," Amy squealed. "When did you find out?!"

"A couple of days after you left," Bella said smiling.

"I know," Jeff said before Matt could say a word. "That's why we're here to pick you up. You don't need to get all dressed up. Shannon and Shane are setting things up at the lake. Mark and Glen are finding a minister. It might not be as spectacular as your wedding, but we don't need a whole lot of hoopla to get married. Just being in love is enough for us."

*~*~*~*

An hour later Jeff and Bella were exchanging vows on the lake with just their close friends and family watching. After the ceremony they all hung out at the house, which was almost finished being fixed up. Bella had decided to wait a while to start construction on the baby's room.

"Are you happy," Jeff asked as they lay in bed together.

"I'm very happy," Bella replied sleepily.

Jeff smiled and kissed the crown of her head before he closed his own eyes. He saw Adrienne's face before his eyes, but something about her expression made him feel calm and at peace, rather than scared and sad. Her lips were moving, but he couldn't hear her just yet. Then her words came to him as if someone had suddenly turned up the volume on the radio.

"Be happy," she said. "Love her the way you loved me. Love the child the way you would have loved ours. You were not to blame for my demise. Don't waste another day blaming yourself. You have a wife and a baby to spend that time with now. Until we meet again Jeff. I love you."

Jeff smiled in his sleep. He knew now that it had not been his fault that Adrienne had died. He was happy that Adrienne had given her blessing to his marriage and new baby too. With a content sigh he held Bella close to him and settled into a restful sleep.
